i have always believed that for all of our messy, complex social challenges, we have all of the pieces of the puzzle. we just haven't figured out how to put them together yet.

for the last 15 years, i've focused on building meaningful action learning processes for those trying to achieve better outcomes for the people and places they care about. that work has taken many forms, but has always been underpinned by the same question: how can we learn well, in order to do better?

i have designed and delivered capability building programs to 750+ participants, created eight online learning programs including a 10-month systems leadership program now in its third year. i've guided government departments, health and community organisations and not-for-profits through systems change processes across mental wellbeing, water resources, housing, persistent pain, climate change and equity. i've managed a graduate diploma program in social innovation, and studied how systems change over time in my phd.

i created gathering well because i believe that our coming together in a conference space is one of the most under utilized opportunities we have to contend with the challenges we face. the social sector operates with different intentions than for-profit spaces — these are people trying to take care of communities and causes, often under-resourced, working on problems that matter. when field experts, practitioners, and change-makers commit time, money, and energy to gather in person, it is a genuine opportunity to shift what a whole field can see and do.

this is the intention that gathering well is built for.
